In Chennai(India) the monsoon rains have increased drastically and low lying areas are flooded and waters lie inundated foe several days spreading diseases, mainly malaria.The beach side indicates the slow but evident recession of the ground waters.pollution is unbelievable the plants around my garden particularly the roses and the mango tress have stopped growing.The swallows who wee welcomed to nest in our homes have literally disappeared.

Constant repair works at construction sites, drilling etc has destroyed the peace of residential areas.There is distinct feeling of breathlessness and humidity which was never there before. In Manchester the intensity of the rains is distinctly increased and after which there is a sense of suffocating humidity in the air.The summers are 'boiling' hot which was never the case in the past.
