Shipping problems

20:38 Nov 22 2010 Dorval

Description
Changes in my immediate environment can be deceiving. Colder than normal winter wheather creates the impression that everything is OK with the winter season; yet....if the polar region is melting faster than normal then it follows that this polar cap will give off more cold than normal. Observation # 2: I live by the St Lawrence River that widens into Lake St Louis and for most of this summer the water level was so low that Cargo Ships had to reduce their normal weight loads by about 30% thus costing much more in shipping charges to transfer the same tonnage. Two years ago there was so much snow that when the City of Montreal piled a good percentage of it all in one place it did not finish melting until the end of July while last winter there was not nearly enough snow thus the low water levels in lakes along the St Lawrence Seaway system.
